I've had better Dunkel's, but this one is decent. Appearance is nice brown color with a good malt body. The hop flavor is almost too strong for a beer with 20 IBU's. It tastes more like 35-40. Aroma is malt and hop. Here again the hops are too strong in my opinion for a Dunkel. Rated 5-21-2023

12oz can from Hops & Bottles. Dark, clear amber, off-white foamy head sticks around. Toasty malts aroma, sweet, nutty. Taste is toffee, caramel, toast, sweet with a crisp finish. Really solid Dunkel.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 10/27/22.
Appearance: rich, deep amber hue with a clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam. The color is outstanding.
Smell: light malt aroma which is nutty, toasty, a little biscuity, and quite clean. A good example of the style.
Taste: quite biscuity, compared to the aroma, but with continued nutty and caramelly elements. Not bad, but a bit too much biscuit for my taste (even for the style).
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this is a solid Munich Dunkel, if not one that totally appeals to my taste. But fans of the style should like it.

One fat finger of taupe bready foam , good retention, settles to a pencil thick layer with noticeable lacings over a clear mahogany liquid with active carbonation streams. Layered levels of lacings after each sip
Malty aroma , spicy, peppery hop note, brown bread, toffee, caramel
Taste is malty, brown bread , hint of spice
Sudsing that quickly settles, crisp, tangy
Good beer, thanks @snoatheus !!!

Pours a crystal clear dark auburn color. Effervescent. Thin off-white sudsy head forms on the beer when it was poured before dissipating. Aroma has lovely notes of dark bready malts, some light grainy notes, there is a slight floral note from the hops with some light grassy notes.
Taste has notes of bready malts, some light grains, a touch of nutty notes, some floral and spicy notes come through from the hops. Feel is light, crisp, dry. Moderately carbonated.

12oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Dated 12/21/21. I think I bought it at the Metropolitan Market in south Seattle.
Pours a dark ruby / caramel color with a fairly large, creamy head that settles slowly into a clumpy layer that seems to be trying to climb to the top of the glass. Smell is bready / toasty, very grain forward, a hint of nutty toffee. Just a whiff of grass or flowers.
Taste is soft, sweet, grainy, strong barley tea flavor, but with a slow creeping bitterness that's mostly grassy / leafy.
Mouthfeel is surprisingly pillowy, very light. Overall, this is really nice, easy to drink, very enjoyable.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a gorgeous transparent brown with slightly tan head. Head dissipates, leaving a lice thin lacing. Some bubbles throughout. Nose is toffee, freshly-baked bread, a bit of maple. Nice and sweet.
Taste follows the nose nicely. Very malty. Toffee, bread, raisin, plums, and a slight hoppy note. A bit of pepper spice. Generally sweet, but definitely not overpowering sweetness. Super crisp and nice. This is a fantastic beer.
Mouthfeel is light and, as noted, crisp. I could drink this every day.

Poured a very nice copper-amber color with a bright manila head that left reasonable lacing. Looks good!
Aroma mild, for me that's normal. Did get a bit of roasted grain or maybe a fresh baked bread vibe, some sweetness but not sugary.
Taste follows mostly; for a 5.5 ABV lager, this packs a load of flavor in. Wonderful maltiness, mildly sweet reminiscent of molasses as caramel would be too sweet. Nice bready aspect.
The feel is very nice, easily quaffable and way too easy to down a 12 oz can. You need this by the liter!
Really glad to have tried this, must find similar options local to me!

Pours a crystal clear medium light brown, great head gives way to settling lacing and small creamy islands of light brown.
This has a very pleasant and unique rich sweet aroma, almost like caramelized sweetness. Some fresh bread notes and nuttiness too but wow is that caramel malt smell pleasant and the start of the show. I can't stop smelling this one!
Despite that caramelized sweetness in the aroma, this beer is pleasantly balanced and not sweet tasting at all. The taste is all breadcrust like with the malty caramel and nuttiness coming in last. The bread note has an almost toasted character to it as well. Really really nice taste.
Mouthfeel is perfect as well, light body; incredibly refreshing and drinkable. The finish is clean and dry. I didn't really notice hops in the taste or aroma but they show themselves on the finish, adds to the refreshingness of this beer.
Great great beer.

12oz can
Pours a small half finger of dense tan head into my nitro glass. Retention is average and the head fades completely within a minute or two. Initial lacing looks solid. Body is burgundy, with shades of ruby; a pretty light color for a Dunkel. Looks ok so far,
Nose is loaded with sweet chocolate, this almost smells like a desert stout at times. Some baked bread, and toffee as well. Smells slightly sweeter and not as clean as it stylistically should. That said, it’s very inviting and it’s just fine when not thinking about style.
Flavor is very lovely. Chocolate, a decent amount of toffee, some bread, and a touch of roast. It’s a significant flavor, and delivers a nice full punch.
Carbonation is on the higher side. Body has some decent weight to it for a lager, probably due to the decent amount of residual sugars. The attenuation doesn’t seem as high compared to past examples I’ve had. This is moderately sweet and not at all dry, but definitely not cloying. Bitterness is present, helps balance things well. Style aside, I can definitely dig it.
Drinkability is very high. The sweetness is not over the top, and it drinks very smooth.
Appearance turned out okay. The lacing took a while to develop, but it had some brief moments. There was a nice sliver of foam hanging around for a while as well.
While it has plenty of Dunkel qualities, the proportions seem over the top for it to qualify, notably the sweetness, but even the chocolate and toffee are questionably big at times. A solid beer when you ignore the style.

1 month old can into a pint glass. The color is a dark amber mahogany, off white bubbly head with poor retention, settles pretty fast but some lacing is retained. The nose is pretty muted, some faint lager and dark malt. Taste wise we get a classic dark lager, soda bread, faint toffee and spiced bread, a hint of caramel, and lager round corn flavors in a mid length finish. The body is moderate, full but not thick and rich, but not thin either.
This is a very sessionable beer that asks that you drink more than one for sure, while retaining a more robust, darker, and earthier flavor profile than a typical lager.

Look: Clear dark amber, leaning brown with a silky-looking tan head that settles to a lid, leaving behind good lacing
Aroma: Freshly baked bread, toffee, some earthiness, light chocolate notes, and a sweet floral note
Taste: Sweet bready notes, toffee, and flowers come into the fold initially, soon joined by earthy notes and waves of chocolate-covered toffee. More deep layers of bready malt – fresh bread, raw dough, and heated crust – lead to a soft finish
Mouthfeel: Full, very clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and a clean, soft, and slightly crisp finish
Overall: This is tasty stuff. A very nice American take on a Dunkel and the depth of rich bready malt balanced with earthy and floral hops demonstrate how well-crafted it is. A delicious treat to see as I didn’t remember this was their fall seasonal and hits the spot on a cool fall evening. Recommended

Nice looking pour. Dark copper, amber head, crystal clear. Aroma is very light yeasts and bread dough, not much going on there. Taste makes up for it. You get a malty, fairly dry first taste which expands to a rich blend of roasted grain with a well balanced bitterness. Finish is not overly long, but very mild and you're sorry to see it go. Good mouthfeel, quality all around. We seek out Buoy beers for the great job they do on lagers. Their ales are not far behind.
