Here in Tyler, TX we like to do things bold. From the green pines towering overhead to the colorful sunsets tucking us in a night, things here demand to be noticed. Just like our Rose City IPA. Named for the city nickname, this India Pale Ale (IPA) contains a floral aroma and a gentle thorny bite from the generous bouquet of Cascade, Centennial and Citra hops. A beer that’s down to earth with a little fight in it. Just like the Rose City itself.

In a market full of over the top IPAs, is Rose city IPA is a breath of fresh air. Very well-balanced, yet hop forward, this beer has great floral and citrus character. Malt character takes a back seat, but what does come through is reminiscent of a nice British cask ale, like an ordinary bitters. I also appreciate the relatively moderate ABV, which at 5.5%, allows you to enjoy more than just a couple. An excellent beer that I like to keep on hand. If you are in north or east Texas, try this out!

ABV and hop pungency are less IPA, more pale ale. Hop profile is uninteresting. Rough around the edges balance wise.

Floral, acidic, lacking in hop character and depth of hop flavour. Tastes like a generic pale malt and floral hop beer. Not getting much from the Citra, Centennial, or even Cascade. Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale has more hop punch than this

A hum-ho pale ale marketed as an IPA.
