A really interesting bourbon barrel-aged offering from Books & Brews. Not heavy on the Belgian quad notes, so if rated to style, it would not fare so well. But simply taking it for what it is, I am really enjoying it. There are hints of the banana and clove that one might expect, but they've added tart cherries to the barrel, and that moves it to another dimension, with plenty of juicy dark cherry, a bit of lime, and other sweet fruit notes that are more prominent than the type of sweetness you might get from candi sugar or other traditional quad characteristics.

Much better than Boulevard's BBQ.
