One of Books & Brews's monthly special limited releases, Kanga Kraken is a 10% ABV brown ale aged in rum barrels. I'm guessing white rum, from the character I get from the barrel. Unfortunately, the predominant note, less so on the nose but particularly on the palate, is diacetyl butterscotch. It's a bit confounded by the rum, but I don't get much else besides booze and butterscotch, with little trace of malt or nut character from the base brown ale.
