16 oz. can, backyard drinking and someone brought the Costco Exclusive European Beers box.
Appearance: clear gold, 2 cm. fine white head.
Aromas: light floral and lemon
Flavors: Orange, lime, faint pine, yeast
Feel: Sharp hop bite, refreshing.
Not bad at all, a good backyard picnic or beach pale ale.

Interesting, but not good.
Brin's Looks are only average, not much foam and too little staying power. Smells are quite floral. Tastes rely too much on hops (rarely a good tactic to win over a malt-head like me) and hops overwhelm the finish that is refreshing, juicy, yet semi-dry.
I give high Overall Hugs mostly for the importer Webster Barnes. As I drink through this Costco box of 10 Exclusive European beers, I sense the importer has worked closely with the European micros to bring them to the American market. We will see how successful this strategy works with Costco's very broad customer base.

Nice appearance, clear gold with a little bit of chill haze. Nice thick rocky long lasting head and good lacing. Honey comes through strong on the aroma. The taste is a little sweet, but not too sweet and is well balanced with some firm bitterness. I really enjoyed this one and would definitely drink it again.

$29.99/12-pk European Beer Collection @ Costco, Christiana, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: Its hazy deep golden body appears almost orange in a large tulip glass. The head is a creamy inch of white foam that looks snow that's been walked through. The label reads "FRENCH PALE ALE", and that may be true, but I can tell from the aroma that they've used Belgian yeast. It's sweetish and honeyish, fruity with orange, delicately spicy, and lightly floral and earthy. On to the taste... it's as the aroma suggests. The orange is fuller, as is the spiciness, and it's earthy, woody, and floral. The grain is sweetish and bready, and a firm bitterness of around 30 IBUs balances it nicely along with the yeasty spiciness (it could be from coriander seed as well) and a spritz of light alcohol. In the mouth it's medium bodied and zesty but then creamy once it warms. In my mind this is a Belgian-style blonde ale, and a very good one at that. The clarity could be better but the head retention was very good, and the lacing is right behind it. This is a fantastic, world-class beer.

From the can, it pours a hazy amber color with a very nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The scent is tropical to my friend as my nose is stuffy. The taste follows, with some bitterness, fruit and it leaves a citrusy zing in the mouth. The feel is medium, with a modest aftertaste.
