12oz snifter consumed at the brewery's tap room for $5. On the menu, this is stated to be 9.7% alcohol by volume, with 45 IBUs. It is declared that it has been left deliberately unspiced so the drinker can appreciate the "fruity esters." You'll have to consume this at the brewery, as growler fills are not allowed for this beer (which kinda blew my plan to take this home).

Poured a clear, orangey amber color, with an inch or so of bone-white head that left spotty lace.

Fruity esters, as advertised. They mentioned in their promotional materiel that this was left unspiced to highlight the "Dupont yeast strain." I'm thinking that yeast strain itself included some spicy notes, but they didn't dominate the nose or the taste. Both were predominantly redolent of pears and apples, with a slightly funky aroma and - weirdly - a little bit of raisins in the flavor, which lent a nice bit of bitter contrast but was kept otherwise in the background. There was a slight sour taste as well, but like the raisins, way in the background and added depth without throwing things out of kilter. Dry at the swallow.

Fairly light bodied, with a slightly effervescent mouthfeel.

A very drinkable, well-made saison, almost dangerously so. I really wish I could have taken 32ozs of this home!
