Our black stout is jet black with a robust malt character featuring notes of coffee and a nice roasty finish. For an extra jolt of flavor, we added bourbon soaked oak chips during fermentation, giving a stout that already had plenty of character a little more. Armstrong Woods State Park is located in Sonoma County with the Colonel Armstrong tree recognized as the oldest in the park at 1400 years of age.

The nitrogen really sets this beer apart from other stouts. It's fresh sweet and very bubbly almost too drinkable. If it weren't so dark and some of what of a thick body is assume this was a black lager. Can't wait to return to the tap room.

On tap at the brewery in Santa Rosa. Dark black, looks fine. Aroma was a bit of malts and boring overall. Flavor is a little watery and has this ashy note at the end that I did not like. They are a relatively new brewery so maybe they just need some time to dial things in?
