Great Redwood coffee cream ale, on tap at Fogbelt in Santa Rosa and in cans bought at the taproom. This is a wonderful, light but characterful and engaging beer. I have taken a liking to golden or pale or cream ales brewed with coffee, which adds a nice complexity in a way very different from adding coffee to stouts or porters, which are naturally coffee-like in their character to begin with.
Dark gold. Medium white head on tap, consistently big, airy head in the can, steadily shrinks to thin foamy top and foamy lace. Aroma light coffee with grass and light bread. Taste nice light coffee and toasty bitterness, lots of grass, and hints of grain. Lively feel, zesty, and very engaging.
