Nicknamed “Danger City” in the 70’s, Mansfield has revitalized while embracing its rich history. Inspired by this spirit of transformation, our brown ale is brewed with American 2-Row Barley and Chocolate Malts for bold notes of toffee, caramel, and roast. Pouring a dark brown color and finishing with light fruit notes from English yeast.

I made my own 4pck at the Drug Mart in Willard, Ohio which included two cans of this gem. It poured a dark clear amber with khaki head that did not leave any lace. The scent had rye and multi-grain malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dry malt base with hearty grain and earth presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

16oz undated can poured into a nonic pint glass at fridge temp 5.2% ABV 30 IBU per label. The beer pours opaque medium brown with light brown head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is mild with toffee and cocoa powder. The taste is semisweet toasted malt with with a barely smokey, earthy, cocoa background. Moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good.

Tawny, dark brown body; thin head. Nutty and roasted grain aroma. Taste mirrors the aroma; goodalthough sweetness with a nice counterbalancing hop bitterness. Medium body; smooth; mostly dry finish.

A solid brown ale.

32 FL. OZ. growler
Served in a Phoenix Brewing pint glass

A - It is brown. When held to the light it shows some burnt orange and amber highlights. It is capped with three inches of tan head.

S - Surprisingly, I get some light floral notes and citrus. Every now and then I get wafts of cocoa and nuts.

T - The taste starts has an orange taste. I get some other citrus flavors. The malts are pretty tame. None of the cocoa and nutiness really comes through.

M - Medium

O - This is an easy drinking brown ale. It is not huge on flavor. The citrus flavors are pleasing. I like it because there is finally a local brewery. This is the first addition to the five beers they started with.
