Don’t let the name or the 100 IBUs scare you. This Imperial IPA, brewed with Pilsner malt and a secret blend of hops is gold in color, with high hop flavor and aroma of pineapple, mango and citrus but without any harsh hop bitterness. Get embalmed today.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It a clear golden with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had bright bitter hop notes with bold bitter citrus highlights. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright sweet malt start that turned a hoppy bitter finish with grapefruit and other bitter fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Dark, honey-gold body topped with a thick, sticky head. Rich malt aroma; a bit sweet with some hints of esters; suggestions of pine. Charred sugar and earthy hop flavors; low-key bitterness; pine resin; modicum of alcohol. Heavy body; slick and velvety on the palate; nicely coats the mouth with fine residual sugar textures; mildly warm.

A most righteous and solid double IPA from Mansfield, Ohio. Well-balanced and nifty complexity, doing a nice job of letting the malts and hops stand out without an aggressive alcohol presence. The 100 IBUs also seem rather tame (perhaps a good thing). It still is nicely bitter, but the malt base easily balances things out. Well worth checking out.

22 OUNCE bottle
Served in an oversized wine glass

This beer pours amber in color with golden highlights. It has a slight haze. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves decent lacing.

The smell is citrus and pine with hints of pineapple.

The taste has a nice balance between malt and hops. I taste pine and bitter citrus which is grounded by a solid malt backbone.

Medium mouthfeel

This is a solid IIPA. It is definitely worth trying.

100 IBU's. A blend of hops with smooth notes of pineapple, mango, and citrus. The Phoenix never goes wrong with the brews.
