22 OZ. bottle
Served in a Phoenix Brewing Company pint glass
Bottled 4-12-18

This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of mocha head that leaves decent lacing.

The first thing I smell is dark fruit. I get plum and black cherry. Chocolate, roasted malt, and cocoa round out the aroma.

Much like the smell this beer starts out with plum and black cherry. I get some chocolate and hints of black coffee in the finish.

Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel

This is an enjoyably stout. I really don't get much barrel character, but the flavors and mouthfeel and great.

22 ounce bottle, label says bottled on 12-9-19. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around for a while. There's a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like bourbon, roasted malt, vanilla, coffee, cocoa and a bit of dark fruit. For the most part I think the taste is just like the aroma, but there's also the addition of some licorice, dark bread and burnt/charred malt flavors. Good amount of barrel, and it's not overpowering. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and a bit slick with a good amount of carbonation. Easy and enjoyable to drink! I thought this was a good bourbon barrel aged stout, definitely worth picking up if you come across some. I liked the regular Black Aggie, and I think the barrel aged version is even better! $13.99 a bomber.
