Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours a golden color with a slight haze. It is topped with an inch of off-white head that I swear has a greenish tint that I was not expecting at all.
Mint dominates the aroma. I do get some chocolate too. Smells a little like a peppermint patty. I smell a little coffee as it warms, but this is definitely a mint forward aroma.
Peppermint bomb. Chocolate is almost more in the aftertaste. Any coffee flavor is overwhelmed by the mint with the chocolate tagging along.
I feel it is lighter bodied than the regular Krampus Kandy. Smooth mouthfeel with a low amount of carbonation.
After the initial peppermint shock, I settle into this beer. The mint actually becomes refreshing and comforting. I would have preferred that mint as a compliment to the chocolate instead of the star of the show. It obliterated any coffee aspect of this beer. It was worth a try though.
