750mL into a tulip. Pours a slightly dirty copper color w/ a white head that settles to a thin film.
Aroma is mostly green apples and funky wet hay, some citrus (lemon if I had to ID it, some orange too). Rustic and earthy.
Taste follows nose. Slightly sweet bready pale malt, dry funk, and a slightly tart quality. Some spice. Gently bitter floral Old World hops.
Mouthfeel is clean and dry, light to medium body. Finishes with a slight pucker that asks for, but doesn't quite demand, another sip.
Overall a refreshing, earthy saison from an up-and-coming NW brewery.

Golden amber color with a low line of suds in the Affligem chalice. Some spritz to start but the last glass is nearly flat. Pear and yeast in the nose. Handsome packaging, big capped Belgian bottle.
This has some of what I call a "rusty" flavor, like weak tea spiked with a dose of sweet Vermouth. Some fruity flavors of red currant and the "meaty" savory taste you get in Saisons sometimes. A dark grainy note and a bitterish aftertaste. Not as yeasty tasting as many others in the style. From the 750 ml bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.
