Our English style barleywine, aged in bourbon barrels for months on end emerges as a singular yet complex malt and bourbon infused liquid sense of comfort. Hand selected as always, these barrels reflect our dedication to patience and careful consideration of the final blend. ⁣

We taste Cadbury like caramel filling, candied plumb dark fruit depth, with a brown sugar vanilla like finish.

This one pours a slightly murky golden brown color, with a surprisingly large foamy head, and lots of lacing. The beer gushed slightly when opened.

This smells a touch oxidized, with lots of dark fruit, some diacetyl, and caramel.

I expected a lot more out of this one. It’s only two years old, which in barleywine years, is pretty young, overall. So the fact that it’s severely fallen off is disappointing. It’s slick, a touch diacetyl forward, with lots of dark fruit, and a nice caramelly malt backbone. There’s a decent beer somewhere in here, and Triple Crossing is usually bang on, so this is disappointing. I thought it was infected and possibly sour, given the slight gushing on pouring this, but it’s not at that point yet.

This is slick and not all that drinkable.

I wanted to like this one so much more than I actually did.

500 mL bottle. Deep brown. Smells of really strong whiskey. Intense whiskey and a little brown sugar. Tastes of brown sugar, bourbon, oak, vanilla. Rich and sweet, but not cloying. Good.

Poured dark dark brown with a half inch beige head. At the nose, rich dark pitted fruits layered with bourbons. Taste is the same, very heavy dark fruits - raisins and prunes for days - finished with tart cherries and malty bourbon. Entirely sweet throughout, just laden with fruit. Mouthfeel very thick and full bodied, alcohol presence minimal. Overall an excellent beer for what it is; just so heavy on the fruit.

This is a beer for sophisticated gentlemen. It’s a smoking jacket in a mahogany cigar lounge. It’s a beer for sipping, letting the toffee, coconut and tobacco flavors swirl around your palate like the smoke from a cartoon cigarette.

Really solid English barleywine. Deep chestnut red color with rich flavors of caramel, toffee, and vanilla. This would be awesome aged in bourbon (or rum) barrels.
