On tap at Broadway Dive, NYC.
Pours a black color with hints of ruby. A moderate foam head soon dissipates and yields touches of lacing.
Aromas of coffee are prevalent. Notes of cocoa, dark chocolate and nutty malts.
Flavors of coffee all throughout, along with dark chocolate, the latter bittersweet. Full flavored and rich nutty malt taste and notes of dark caramel. Bright hops flavors along with moderate bitterness from the hops and espresso like roasted malts. A light tartness from the black malts as well as flavors of dark fruit, raisins and currants.
Full bodied and rich. Smooth and creamy and roasty. The carbonation is up to par. The dry finish is superb. The booze is well hidden, save for traces of clean alcohol spice in the finish.
A very tasty and well done Imperial Stout.
