We have a second special release for your Black Friday. The fourth installment in our series of decadent, spirit-barrel aged Imperial Stouts. Deep Dark Woods returns, in an adjunct-free blend of some of our favorite barrels to date. This blend consists of 2+ year-aged Imperial Stout in both Willett and A. Smith Bowman bourbon barrels. The resulting beer is what we strive for in our barrel aging program: complex interplay of layered caramel and roasted malts with high quality bourbon and oak.
After our standard conditioning period in stainless, we feel this blend really came together into something special. Pouring a deep, dark, oily black with a dark mocha head, this is one of the more viscous beers we've released to date. Deep Dark Woods erupts with notes of vanilla and campfire roasted marshmallow, chocolate covered cherry and espresso beans, followed by classic sweet Bourbon and rich baker's chocolate. This is all pulled together by our signature soft mouthfeel and balanced, roasty finish.
Truly an expression of the extended aging time in American Oak, this is another perfect beer to sip on through the Holidays or beyond.

Chocolate, funky oak, rye, & bourbon. Thick texture. Smooth drinking stout that is not boozy. Pastry style for sure; good in small servings.
