The story behind this beer is that 8 years age the head brewer put a spoiled beer into an open fermenter added lambic yeast and a ton of cherries. This concoction was put into oak barrels and left to see what would happen. Today the only way to get this beer is be at a festival where it is served or show up with a growler like me and through the good nature of the brewers buy a sample.

The beer looks like weak tea and smells like horse blankets but the first sip lets one know that this beer is unlike any beer made in Vancouver. Dry as a Death Valley Sunday and only vaguely fruity I compare this beer to a Normandy Cider crossed with an old Gueze. It may not have the complexity of a true aged Belgian Lambic but all the correct flavours are there. I just think it is very interesting that a beer like this was made by a little brewery and that it turned out this good
