On-tap at VCBW 2011 Brewery Creek Fest.
This one was closer to 10% abv according to the server.
Strong alcohol in the aroma, somewhat whiskey-like, nutty biscuits with hints of toffee.
Flavour is remarkably smooth for its weight, though a bit whiskey-like as well. Some nice malt flavour (grainy biscuit & nuts with hints of toffee & coffee roast), balanced bitterness.
Moderate body has a drying alcohol finish.
A good drinker, unique & well done.

This was sold to me in a growler but this beer is really their Scottish Ale put in a lager tank and frozen. The remaining beer is then re-kegged at a higher alcohol.
This is a great beer because the freezing process has somehow smoothed out the finish. The beer is fairly malty which to be expected since this is a Scottish Ale. The drinkability is amazing considering the alcohol. A session beer with dire consequences.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
