Appearance: Chalky haze of lemon drop straw gold. I got a nice 50-50 liquid to head ratio - probably should have eased into it a bit better, but, head is creamy foamy and white and clings to the glass nicely as it dissipates. Retention is really good, took a few minutes for my head to drop, and when it does there is wonderful patchwork of foam lace all around, a generous ring and surface residuals.
Aromatics: Nice fresh citrus aromas of grapefruit, lemon , and orange (in that order) sit atop a yeasty oatmeal scent. there is a slightly biscuity nature to it with some undertones of brown sugar sweetness.
Taste: Soft grainy meal with a tangy orange peel bitter. Has a kind of orange oil whisper mixing with the bready-yeast that kind of bubbles in the middle of the swig then the flavours subside into a mellow nondescript umami-bitter. And the little burp I got after too big of a gulp produce a rather cool orange creamsicle aftertaste - very nice. lol.
Feel: Light carbonation that helps keep things moving on the palate, but has a superb gentle and creamy delivery system. Nicely balanced medium body and slightly bitter residue left at the finish
Overall: It’s bright and refreshing. Has a great presence of flavour without being punchy and in your face. I love the subtlety of the oatmeal and orange, and with a relatively clean finish and mild aftertaste, I could easily enjoy this one on the patio at any time.
Pairing : It is bright and sunshine invoking right down to the label. So I’m going to put it on my table with some picnic finger foods: bacon onion pasta salad, cold cuts of ham and mild salami with 7 grain artisnal crackers and swiss and pepperjack cheeses, and fruit bowl mélange of watermelon, honey dew, green grapes, and pineapple tidbits.
