22 oz poured into globe. reviewed 26-11-11. This has a different ABV and slightly different name than the holiday saison listed as retired so I am adding it as a new beer.
Ar: Peach, pine, herbal green, rough pine/woody astringent character
Ap: Brilliantly clear (filtered) gold, moderate white head, fair retention.
T: Peach, little bit of yeasty off character (goes away with warmth), piney resin, dry, lots of pine throughout, light herbal, ends with pine bitterness that is a bit unpleasant
M: Thin and watery, medium carbonation, light piney resin finish, somewhat rough finish
O: Disappointing, mostly due to the thin body and rough pine character. Overall i like what Spinnakers does but this is not one of their finer beers. Finer carbonation and bottle conditioning could potentially help the body of this beer out.
Has some good saison qualities but overall is lacking the character and complexity of a good saison. perhaps toning down the pine character a bit and allowing the yeast to come through more would help.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
