Poured from a 650ml bottle, the Simcoe Hops are from the Yakima Valley in Washington State.
A: Pours a clear light golden with a very thin white head and no real lacing.
S: Earth like nose from the hops.
F:Medium carbonation fairly light body.
O: An ok fresh hopped pale ale but for me its kind of missing the hop bitterness.

Appearance: Mostly clear and a golden apple juice color. Fairly fizzy carbonation that brings up a quick loose bubbly head that dissipates very quickly and leaves the glass sides clean.
Aromatics: Fresh tropical fruit - mostly on the citrus side, pomelo, yellow grapefruit, and lemon. Some green grassy hop juice and a latent caramel sweetness mingle together.
Taste: I get the mild bitter first surprisingly. In fresh hop brews I usually get something less earth up front, but this one has an odd Jasmin Green Tea vibe to it. It’s bitter being more of a blend of tea herbs as opposed to the more usual Simcoe “dirt” earth taste. There is a slight liquorice flavour and touch of spiciness to the bitter in the aftertaste which actually makes it more palatable as a finish.
Feel: The carbonation is rather stunted, which is unfortunate because I think with a bit more pep those flavours would get moved around the palate a bit more, triggering some additional senses. Medium bodied and relatively clean finish.
Overall: Not bad. A little different from the other fresh hop IPAs I’ve had this week. Not quite as juicy in mouthfeel, and though the balance in hops and malts is actually quite nice, for me it loses some of the bolder hops qualities I’ve come to expect.
