Fresh growler filled at Nathaniel Square Corner Store in Rochester, NY.
Pours a clear russet brown, with a 2 inch head, and lots of sticky lacing down the glass.
Smells like toasted bread, dark fruit, and grass.
The taste is similar. Some grassy bitterness, caramel, toasted rye bread, raisins, sweet malt, and citrus hop flavors, some Some peppery hop bitterness, thew bitterness lingers for a while, which is nice. Some sweet honey malt flavors as it warms up.
Starts with a dry, bitter mouthfeel, ends very creamy and nice. Very drinkable. Medium bodied, this one is easily crushable. The more of the growler I drank, the more I enjoyed this and additional complexities opened up.
Again, Victory can do no wrong. The rep who was there while I filled this said is very similar to the Beers Across America alt they brewed with Sierra Nevada.
