On cask at the Old Toad for their cask festival.
Pours a clear golden yellow, with a small fizzy quarter inch head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like sweet malt, grass, citrus fruits, and cattiness.
The taste is similar. The addition of Citra hops to the otherwise somewhat pedestrian Summer Love has really elevated the beer. It's much juicier now. Granted, it does tastes more like a hoppy pale ale now than a blonde ale, due to the hops used. Lots of typical Citra characteristics here- orange, pineapple, dank, herbal flavors, and the stereotypical cattiness, which is luckily kept in check.
Light bodied, crisp, light mouthfeel, really good drinkability on this one.
A nice example of a cask working its magic on a beer and elevating it beyond what it was before. Nice.
