Appearance: pours a dark brown color with a 1" head that slowly falls.

Smell: roasted malt come through along with some earthy and citrus tones

Taste: roasted malt, hint of chocolate, some spicy rye, mild pine, and a bit of an earthy bitterness rounds it out.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Light crispness from the start to a mildly dry finish.

Overall: a very enjoyable black IPA that is easy to drink.

Pours a dark brown color with large foamy head. Poured very carbonated, almost too much so. Aroma of roasted malt and some floral hops. Taste is full on roasted with a slight coffee flavor, with earthy hop character and hints of brighter citrus. Pretty toasty and decent at that. Undercarbonated body from an over carbed pour. Average for the style.

Brown in color with reddish edges. A nice combination of malt and hops on the nose. The flavor profile is much more muted than the nose might indicate. This offering is a bit thin.

I'll stick with Yakima Glory.

This pours a pleasing dark brown/black with a creamy cap. There’s a light roasty character and some wonderfully big fresh squeezed grapefruit notes. I get a touch of the roast with more grapefruit juiciness as I sip. Drying finish.

the latest in a cool series of brews, a black ipa, super foamy and heady and bubbly and alive, nice to have an upbeat take on the style for spring. dark dark brown in color, but not all that thick, lighter in body than others, with a cool chocolate malt nose and not much more than a light bittering hop, maybe some tangerine type strain in there someplace, but its real subtle on the citrus. i like the lighter body a lot, but i am missing some hop flavor in this one. its balanced nicely, but in a series called hop ticket, id like a little more hops. there is a strange mustiness to it, dank basement sort of thing, chalky feeling but almost mildewy, not all bad, but certainly weird in a beer that is otherwise quite light and delicate for the style. i admire victory greatly for their ability to make their mark on almost any style, and while this is a pretty solid beer, the factors making it unique seem a little out of place. good not great for me, but curious sometimes stands in for good in my book, i just like to be challenged.
