We like to mix it up. New flavors, new ideas, new ingredients; we welcome them all. In celebration of our penchant for prolific experimentation, we present Moving Parts: The Ever-Evolving IPA. Each release in this series celebrates a tweaked ingredient or two, creating an endless array of possible flavor profiles.

In our fifth batch (MP05), we've created a deliciously balanced golden New Zealand-Style IPA with refreshing fruity notes and a hint of rich caramel malt character. Taste Victory in Moving Parts 05!

Sampled long ago, just now getting the review in place. Attractive pour with a medium yellow body. Egg shell head steadily replenished by a nice stream of bubbles. Taste is somewhat subdued. I get the pine and some citrus. Glad I tried but nothing I could not get from many regular IPAs.

Got this on a Minnesota trip last week. Smell is not much to run home about, but is sweet and slightly hoppy. Taste is very floral and citrus right from the get go. Malts come thru a little heavy but helps give body. Goes down smooth and mildly bitter. Refreshing.

I don't like this beer. The smell tastes cheap I don't smell citrus at all. I would not recommend it to anyone

L: Pours golden amber with a slight chill haze under a persistent, clingy 2” off-white foam cap. The cap takes 2 minutes to reduce to 1/3 its original size. Clears somewhat as it warms.
S: Definite dank aromas hinting at forest floor, fruit and traces of bread crumb. The aromas are mostly hop.
T: Juicy with layers of citrus and tropical fruit flavors – especially guava with a grainy, malty backbone. .Finishes with an assertive but not harsh fruity-citrusy hop bitterness. Fruit flavors come out more as the beer warms. A touch of herbal astringency is in the background. Faint skunkiness on the palate. F: Very creamy, medium body, soft palate, fine medium carbonation.
O: Somewhat old, slight skunk but still good.

A- Pours a golden pale color with a frothy one finger head.

S- Citrus hops, fruity, with some malty notes.

T- Lots of hop bitterness up front, which is a pleasant surprise. Otherwise it follows the nose with some very nice citrus and fruit flavors, almost like Sculpin's grapefruit flavor. Extremely refreshing juicy taste, definitely underrated.

F- Medium carbonation and body, smooth.

O- I went in with low expectations, even though I love Victory, but this wound up being one of my favorites from them, above Hop Ranch.

T: not very assertive; floral up front; tropical fruit from the middle to the finish; pilsner malt is evident at the end; moderate bitterness on the finish;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: easy drinking; interesting take on the style;

From the bottle, Moving Parts 5 pours a deep gold/pale amber color with an impressive clarity that shows off its steady effervescence. A rocky off-white or beige head endures for quite some time. Juicy on the nose with a slight tang, this IPA overflows with notes of red grapefruit, passion fruit and gooseberry against a vinous background. Not your typical American IPA. Medium bodied, very clean and snappy with an assertive bitterness. Citrus on the edges of the tongue. New Zealand hops stand out without completely overwhelming, although a somewhat hot alcohol quality seems out of place. Semi-dry in the finish with lots of pith/rind and a touch of jammy fruit. Interesting and distinctive.

I like this type of IPA. A crisp spicy taste that reminds me of a saison. A nicely balanced beer. Poured a clear yellow from a bomber into a pint glass, nice creamy,fluffy head and lacing. A spicy herbal taste, along with a hoppy bitterness and a bit of sweetness. Very enjoyable!
