Brew is a very pale yellow, hazy and translucent, topped by a sizeable snow white head. Good retention.

Sour, slightly funky nose, featuring lime, melon, milk, and must. Something else not quite identifiable.

Very, very tart on the palate, with tons of very nice, organic key lime flavor! The gose sourness is really overwhelmed by the limes, and the salt is similarly present but overshadowed. Very light and natural sweetness.

Moderately puckering, smooth, oily, and lively. Drinks bigger than a 4.7% ABV brew.

This is a very nice and refreshing beer!

Poured from 12oz can into glass. Bottom of can is stamped 'ENJOY BY: 12 NOV 2018'.
Slightly cloudy, straw colored body. Thin fizzy head upon pouring disappears, leaving a couple of islands and a thin ring. No lacing.
Aroma is lime tart, with a whiff of salinity.
Taste is tart, veering toward sour, with lime, and some minor salinity.
Medium mouth feel. Good carbonation.
Sour refresher with strong lime flavors and the addition of salt. Tart and salty, and refreshing.

I am not sure I completely get the sour beer craze. I mean, you could just poor lime into your beer and it might come out the same. This was pretty good, but not complex in any way. It is salty, sour lime and that's about it. It was pretty tastey though.

Pale yellow in color with a light hazy appearance. Poured with a tall, soapy, bright white foam moderate retention. Aromas of fresh lime rinds and light wheat malt. Light bodied with high carbonation. Tart, puckering lime flavors right out of the gate that allow wheat malt and saltiness to peak through as the tartness tapers. But  it doesn't taper much as this finished tartly with light wheat followed by lingering lime flavors. Tart, crisp, flavorful and easy drinking for those that enjoy the style.

This beer pours a pale straw with a small head. The aroma features mild malts and strong tart flavors, with notes of both lime juice and lime peel. The flavor is bright and clear, with loads of fresh lime flavor, and a solid hit of salt on the finish. The mouthfeel is light, with bright carbonation. Overall this is a superb, bold, refreshing sour.

12 oz. can poured into a tulip glass.

L---Very pale golden color. Somewhat hazy. A pure white head faded to a cap very quickly and left minimal lacing.

S---Tart. Very tart. Heavy lime aroma. You can tell it's a sour. Some yeast/breadiness in the background.

T---Lime is front & center. Tart. First sip was very salty. Succeeding sips were less so.

F---A considerable amount of pucker. Otherwise light and appropriate for summer. Quenching.

O---Very nice flavored sour. Exactly as advertised. Wish I bought more.

Slightly cloudy and a bit light on the golden color scale. One finger of tight packed bubbles that crackle away forming a nice white head.

Sweet white bread, Kings Hawaiian Bread on the nose. Also picking up lots of lime! Really like the lime smell I get. Smells like a piece of key lime pie!

Taste is very tart and sour on tons of lime! . Very nice saltiness that pops up front.

Mouth is somewhat sticky but light and crisp on the finish. The tartness on the back end of the mouth makes you dive in for another sip.

Loving it! I love a quality Gose style bier and that is exactly what you are getting here! The lime is crushing it and that saltiness goes so well. On the flavor the key lime pie does not really follow the smell. While I get key lime on the nose the flavor is more like a salted lime you are going to suck down with a tequila shot. Now that might be something fun to try with this one, a shot and a Gose together? At $11.99 a six pack I may pick one more up before these beers go away and we are flooded with pumkin beers. Cheers!

Popped in after walking for a while on a hot day for a pint. Did exactly what it was supposed to do and what I needed. Nice & refreshing with just the right amount of tang. Very enjoyable.

Simple yet effective, the brewers at Victory quenches the summer thirst with a German styled sour wheat ale that achieves a moderate tone of tartness as prescribed traditionally by the style and spiced with sea salt as well as a dash of coriander for brightness and lightness.

Pale straw and cloudy in its appearance, Limey Gose sheds a white and racy froth that eventually succumbs to the acidity within. Radiant aromas of lime leads the way along with a backdrop of citrus, cider, wine and dough. That doughy character carries onto the tongue with the sweetness of pastry, tartlet, saltwater taffy and sourdough.

The middle palate shows a recession of both sweetness and breadiness in favor for the growth of acidity that easily erases the thirst from the mouth, laying tracks of bold lime, green apple, lemon, gooseberry, white grape and an aura of under ripened orange in its wake. Shy on bitterness, the ale allows the tartness to govern its balance while a late palate of mild salinity gives the flavors roundness and pulls the various flavor components together.

Medium light in body, the beer has the classic sourness level of gose, but its body seems somewhat lighter than usual. Moderate acidity is heightened by the bitterness and tang of lime while a slight earthiness of wheat germ couples with the overwhelming character of key lime pie for a beer that satisfies on all fronts.

Pale straw, nice fluffy head, champagne carbonation. Aroma is pretty subtle with lime, not overdone at all & works well with the tart wheat. Taste is pretty similar- almost to a fault! I kinda just wanted a teeny bit more lime brightness, but I respect the restraint. The base gose is classical and done very well. Crisp and light, not too tart.

Like the Victory Kirsch Gose, this works. Maybe not quite as well. I think what all these Gose experiments prove is that this style can lend itself to adjuncts, but some work better than others.

It pours a nearly clear yellow with fine bubbles. The aroma is tangy limes and the usual gose yeasty smells. The taste opens up to a very tart/sour taste, more so than the kirsch (cherry) version. It works, though, and it is very refreshing. This is sustantially better than a certain much larger brewer's cactus gose.

Recommended, but the kirsch version is much better. Either of these victorys could stand some sweet adjuncts to up the alcohol - they could cover it well.

I'm not normally a fan of this type of beer, but this one seems to offer a citrusy lightness and nite that is just the thing for a sweltering summer evening when my usual heavier dark beers seem like just too much.

The light yellow-green color and white-as-snow head would normally be big turn-offs but are perfectly appropriate here. I get pure citrus tart emphasized by the addition of salt, with no real sweetness.

Makes "light & refreshing" more than just a tired marketing label.

The clear pale golden colored beer pours out into a Duvel glass with a 1” fluffy white head the recedes visibly to leave an pattern of lacing and foam on the sides of the glass. Before long the thin cap of foam becomes a thin irregular island of foam and then disappears entirely. At first, sipping creates some widely scattered irregular patches of lacing.

The aromas include some lime and salt along with a bit of wheat in the background.

The flavors are much as expected from the nose with good bit of lime, a hint of lime zest, some salt and just a bit of sweetness from the crackery malt. The tartness is definitely present but does not conceal the other flavors until the ending.

The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium bodied, slightly prickly and crisp from the finely bubbled carbonation. The finish begins as the sweetness disappears behind the tartness while the lime slowly disappears in the tart, dry ending that has just a hint of salt.

Overall I thought this beer was reasonably well made but think it is just a bit boring. I’m planning to have a repeat (and revisit this review) while finishing off the 6 pack. The beer is refreshingly tart and goes well on a warm summer evening. That all said, I prefer the aroma/flavor profile of the Dogfish Head Sea Quench so I’ll probably not be buying this Gose again.

Limey Gose - Victory
Sour Ale - 4.7% abv

L - 1-finger bright white head atop an almost-transparent yellow body.

S - lime, salt, something sweet, some spice.

T - spicy, salted lime. I’m not sure of the exact spice used here but it’s quite prominent. Not really getting “key lime” though. No bitterness. Low sweetness. No booziness.

F - light bodied with high carb.

O - I am quite thankful this didn’t turn into a sugary beer, but it’s a rather pedestrian gose compared to others in this area.

Had on tap, 2016 keg. Very sour, strong lime aroma and flavor with a slight hint of saltiness. The only thing missing is a graham cracker crust and we'd have key lime pie. Delicious.

tap

Pours a cloudy lemon golden, white sudsy lacing for a head.

Smells of lemon-lime with a hint of brine and cracker.

Lime flavor over saltine cracker malt, sea salt, and a lactic acid finish.

Light body with stinging carbonation on the roof of the mouth.

Very tasty gose with a welcome mild saltiness. Not nearly the tartest gose I've had, but refreshingly tart nonetheless and worth a grab since this is a limited offering. Find it while you have the chance if you want a light refreshing tart brew.

Bright, biting, limey tartness. Just about perfectly tart and endlessly crushable. Remarkably full, chalky body suggests plenty of wheat in the grain bill. Finishes really crisp and dry. Great beer.

I tried this on tap at Union Beer house, served chilled in a glass.

The color is pale golden with light haze and thick white head with fine bead, lace clings with good retention.
The smell has a fruity and citrus aroma with apparent lime smell and light sour odor. The feel is great tangy yet not too tart, effervescent with mild sweetness and mineral dryness as it finishes with a lingering astringent citrus tang.

A- A hazy golden straw color with a three finger white head.

S- Limes, some salt, hints of wheat.

T- Limes, lime zest/rinds, salt, hints of wheat, touch of lacto. Definitely lot of lime.

M- Smooth, crisp, light body.

O- A tasty Gose, exactly what I feel a lime gose should taste. Very easy to drink, would love to see this in cans or bottles.

On draft at Downingtown
Aroma – weak, lime
Head – cut off by bartender – small, white, creamy with rocks, sloooowly diminishing
Lacing – excellent – rings of mostly tiny bubbles with a few holes
Body – medium yellow, hazy
Flavor – tart and slightly salty, some lime; no hops, no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate – light to medium, watery, lively carbonation

I could have downed several of these, but there was a lot of driving yet to do, so one was the limit. I like the current interpretation of the gose style and the key lime really enhances it. But then, lime enhances everything.

Appearance 4, Aroma 4, Flavor 4.5, Palate 4, Overall 4.5
