If you don't like hazelnut, do not try this beer because unlike other beers with nuts added (can you EVER taste pecans in a beer?) the hazelnut comes through huge both in the aroma and the taste.

Nice amount of fluffy head, color is good. Believe it or not I got a lot of toffee buttered popcorn on the nose - I am sure it is a mix of the hazelnut and chocolate malt / slight lactose sweetness. Odd. That woody nut flavor carries over to the tongue, definitely reminds me of a popcorn taste. Light chocolate and roasted malt. Ok beer but it threw me off a little.

On tap @ Bittercreek Alehouse, Boise.
A: Opaque black with a nice off-khaki head that laces well.
S: Big dusting of hazelnuts combined with cocoa and espresso, some spiciness, and suggestions of peanut butter. Nutella baby!
T: No overly roasty, hazelnuts dominate the toasted grains, with moderate suggestions of chocolate and cocoa. More hazelnut and generic nuttiness as it warms up more.
MF: Medium bodied, not too dry, good carbonation, light spiciness on the finish.
O: It would be hard to drink a lot of this, but this beer has the purest hazelnut aroma and flavor I've ever gotten out of beer. Would recommend if someone was looking for that.

Pours a dark blackish brown with a tan head and lace. Sweet malty, roasted and nutty aroma. Flavor has black coffee like malts and some hazelnut sweetness. Like a hazelnut coffee almost. Smooth oats, rounded bitterness, full bodied mouthfeel. Overall this was an enjoyable brew that highlighted the malts and hazelnut quite well.

On tap in Clemson, SC.
Flavor: A good balance of roasted hazelnuts and dark roasted grains with a very good sweet/bitter balance.
Medium, full body with medium carbonation.
Overall: a very fine hazelnut ale without with sweetness one often finds and with darker roast flavors.
