Pours a 1-finger white head that slowly fades leaving some lace. Hazy light amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Citrus hop nose and flavor is almost grapefruit with some malty sweetness. Best by Sep 2018, still tastes fresh. $2.75 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Pours a hazy orange straw color. modest head poor retention but light lacing.
Aromas highlight a nice combination of citrus, tropical and stone fruit; apricot, mango, peach, banana, papaya, and citrus pith. The aroma of caramel malt contributes with sweetness.
The taste opens sweet and fruity but with a semi dry palate that aids drinkability. Flavors of mango and papaya add juiciness, while pithy citrus fruits add brightness. There is a firm caramel malt flavored backbone, however, the brightness of the citrus hops and resiny quality of the earthy hops soon take center stage. A developing bitterness is refreshing, while the piny hops flavors add sharpness.
Medium to full bodied, crisp, and moderately carbonated. A bitter and resiny finish leaves one wanting more.
Solid IPA all around.

Brewed with Pilsner, Wheat, Oats, Light Caramel malts. Description also says biscuit malt. Hopped with Mosaic, Citra, Azacca
ABV: 8.3%

Pours out to a hazy medium golden, forming a nice creamy bone white head with very good retention and nice lace. The aroma is of cat urine, grapefruit and a funky yeast autolysis that I sometimes get in home brews, akin to cat pee, but not the hop derived character. The mouth feel is medium bodied, finishing drier than most and feeling a bit thinner in the mouth then most imperial IPAs. Carbonation is moderate, about 2.5 carbs. The taste is fairly unilateral. The hops are there but they are not juicy, they are more dank and grassy and there is problematic yeast autolysis throughout the beer into the ruddy finish. The bitterness is medium firm and is not very well-balanced by the lack of malt complexity.

I normally like a lot of what victory does but this one is a dud. 20 years ago, this would've been over the top but especially when compared to today's ipas, it just doesn't hold up. Not recommended and I definitely won't buy it again

I love IIPA's, that being said this has some nice piney resin and citrus without being overly choppy, just enough sweetness to balance out really well. I'll have to look for something else from Victory soon.

Hazy amber, white head dissipates; aroma is indistinct, vaguely IPA. Mouthfeel is tangy, moderately carbonated; flavor is hoppy, not too bitter. Not bad, a fairly conventional IPA.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This beefy beast of an imperial IPA pours a
golden amber with a moderate head of white foam that subsides to a thick ring,
thin light pool, and displays some nice light lacing. Nose of heavy pine, heavy
citrus fruits of grapefruit, lemon, and mango with heavy wet grassy hop notes
that mingle with a heavy honey malt note. Flavors surpass the nose with a sweet
honey caramel malt that is put through the paces with an onslaught of heavy citrus
flavors of pineapple, mango, wet sticky pine hops, lemon zest, and a touch of peach
with light floral notes and bitter sticky hop notes on the finish. Nice mouth feel--
medium high carbonation, medium sticky hop body, and a heavy handed pine
finish that is sticky and dank.

Overall, while note my standard cup of ale it is a decent brew.

Cheers

Meager head, normal pour barely gets enough to temporarily cover the surface, straightforward white as it lasts, wispy lacing which as spotted as it is, sticks well. Light haze to the golden liquid, dense weave of bubbles, slowly rise upwards. Wonderful lift to the nose, tangerine to lemon citrus, honey, dank and wet leafy matter, pine and rose petals, coal tar, substantial amount of peach, apricot, mango fruit scents. Medium-bodied, even with a credible level of dankness, pine and earthiness it has good flow and never bogs down as it crosses the palate. Orange marmalade, pine, rose petals and tar, has elements which both lift and anchor. Carbonation is steady but not necessarily refreshing. Here the peach, mango, pineapple fruit on the dull side. Stays nicely wet and the strong herbaceousness does not dry it out. Allowing for the flow, there is a good deal of sticky residue left on the tongue as it finishes. Strikes one as monochromatic and you wish it reach into the higher register.

Pours a slightly hazy straw color with about a finger of head. The nose is super citrusy as is the flavor profile. The hop bitterness on the finish is more subtle than I expected from the makers f some damn hoppy (and tasty) beers.

S: smells like dank citrus, citrus rind, tangerine and light biscuit

T: Melon, tropical fruit, citrus, bread crumb and biscuit lead the flavors balanced by a moderate fruity bitterness

F: medium body and carbonation and the alcohol warming is mild

O: a flavorful, very drinkable double IPA

Mighty awful... easily my least favorite beer from Victory.

Smell is one step above a port o John, flavor is astringent hops with zero malt balance, mouthfeel is somehow thin for a DIPA, and aftertaste is a brash herbal.

I have no clue how this beer is currently ranked over 4.0 for this style. Feel terrible giving Victory this low of a score, but maybe I just got a tainted 6 pack.

Good IPA. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Hazy yellow color and a medium size white head with average retention and some lacing on the glass. Strong aroma of hops and some grapefruit. Taste is bitter, hoppy with a little grapefruit and biscuity malt. Mouthfeel is crisp and rich. nicely bitter but with a good balance between malt and hops. Also some balance between he dryness of the biscuity malt and some resinous hops. I ENJOYED THIS ONE.

Picked up a single from TW Arrowhead on 12-17-17 for $2.79. Enjoy by 28APR2018. Stored in the beer fridge since purchase.

Beer poured golden orange with a very nice white head that is leaving some lacing behind.

Nose is tropical and citrus goodness.

Taste is a very nice easy drinking blend of grapefruit, orange, papaya over an ample malt body. Finish is very light rind.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.

Overall i really liked this beer, very easy drinking with the flavor profiles i enjoy very much. Cheers!

Enjoy By: 28 Apr 2018

Poured into a tulip a pretty nice dark golden orangey color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves behind some nice sticky lacing. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit), piney. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a nice little citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit), piney. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew.

Amber orange color with a thin off-white head with medium retention.
Aroma with notes of mango, stone fruit, hay, tangerines, pine,
Flavor with notes of tangerines, spices, hay, pine, white pepper, papaya, mango, resin, honey, toasted malts and lots of guava and stone fruit. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Medium to full body with appropriate to mild carbonation. Alcohol of 8.3% is slightly felt.
Spicy and flowery DIPA with some hop tropical flavors. Although it has a great complexity it is somewhat confusing.

DATE: February 24, 2018... OCCASION: well-fed after enjoying Blue and Gold dinner #4...GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter... excited about this one, as I hadn't heard of its release--and then, bam, it's available for grunts at the local Liquor Factory... pours from said grunt create a lightly effervescent, light, murky yellow body... it's head froths and laces with a confident ring that belies its hefty ABV... solid though not spectacular... intense mango, pineapple and papaya, tinged with apple and tart citrus... pretty uniform in its power and profile, though the caramel does support ... the first sip is blissfully bitter, with an IBU count that probably sits in the 80s (actually 70, upon fact-checking)... hits the teeth hard, acquiesces through the mouth, and remains a friendly hop presence at the throat, providing an experience worthy of remembering... citric explosion frames the flavor, with mango and papaya blazing its trail... the hop-forward taste allows for some caramel and bread malts... a fantastic experience of robust fruitiness, with the power of Victory again commanding attention... a winner, and an enjoyable beer among its style...

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of resin, tropical fruits. Taste is tropical fruits, light pine, a good malt balance, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer, and maybe a bit too drinkable for the abv.

Poured from 12oz bottle into glass. Label is stamped 'ENJOY BY: 28 APR 2018'.
Mostly clear, pale gold colored body. Two finger white head settles to nearly complete cap. Scattered sheets of lacing.
Aroma of floral hops and sweet light roasted malt. Bitter citrus notes also.
Taste of bitter orange and grapefruit, with sweet malts. Bitter at the beginning and at the end, more sweet in the middle. Alcohol is not noticeable.
Medium mouth feel. Some minor hop burn in the throat.
Label uses the descriptive term "juicy", but presents more like a West Coast IPA. That being said, overall note and taste is rather subdued, but kind of harsh too.

I tried this on tap at Harvest on Valentine's, enjoyed chilled in a glass.

the color is lightly hazed golden peach color with a white 2 finger fluffy cream with fine bead. The smell is citrus in aroma from hops with tropical quality and lime-like fruit and floral aroma with hop dominant smell through with mild yeast ester. The feel is great with a mix of resinous body and moderately bitter texture with medium high carbonation and light astringency with moderate alcohol for the style and mild sweetness with semi-dry finish and lingering bitter citrus like acidity

The taste has a citrus oil /hop resin w/ pine-like bitter flavor and fruity lime-like tropical aspect with subtle pineapple an peppery mix of hop zest in the taste w/ mild malt supporting yet hops overtake yeast and malt for primary taste and mild alcohol in the mix with a lingering grassy slight astringent finish. Overall I really enjoyed the strong hops w/ balance toward bitter w/ nice hop aromatics and tropical fruit w/ citrus intensity ...a truly mighty IPA.

Look: It pours golden with a slight bit of yellow. Overall is is fairly clear with a white head. Head retention is moderate.

Smell: The initial hops are floral with a hint of tropical fruit. As it warms the tropical fruit becomes a bit more prominent with a slight grassy note. There is also a hint of alcohol and some malty sweetness.

Taste: There is strong bitterness from floral hops with a bit of grapefruit and citrus. There are very low levels of caramel with smooth alcohol.

Feel: It has a moderate body with moderate carbonation and some alcohol warming. The finish with the hops is highly bitter and a slight bit sharp.

Overall, there are some complex combinations from the hops with a low background of malt. The alcohol is smooth, but the bitterness is a bit on the harsh side.
