A - Dark copper color with nice clarity and thin dense lacing, light carbonation.

S - Coffee and bourbon permeates the nose.

T - Bourbon and alcohol forward, some brown sugar, a little bit of oak, some brown sugar, and a touch of vanilla.

M - Full body and velvety soft.

O - This beer is too green right now. It could definitely use some age to let things mellow and blend better. Too bourbon forward.

Growler into pint glass. Pours a deep golden amber with a thin off-white head. Initial impression is suprisingly subdued flavor - although admittedly it was right out of the fridge. It improves with warming, but it's still undrwhelming. I get virtually no bourbon, and only a hint of coffee. Mouthfeel is smooth and oily, with a decent amount of body. Finish is warming but not particularly redeeming. I loved Java Cask but JC Gold not so much. Very disappointing.

Pours a dark amber with fine, wispy head.

Smell is sweet and oaky with notes of roasted coffee, golden syrup and some chocolate.

Taste is sweet and quite boozy, with notes of caramel, coffee, chocolate and oaky vanilla.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a nice stout that is a bit too thin and too boozy for my taste.

500 ml bottle, dated 11/16/18, poured into a tulip

A- A clear golden copper with a two finger off white head

S- Roasted coffee, brown sugar, some bourbon, touch of caramel malts.

T- Rich roasted coffee, caramel malts, some brown sugar, some bourbon.

M- Smooth, medium to full body.

O- A tasty “stout”, coffee is still very well done like regular Java Cask but it shows how much the dark malts add to the chocolate and richer flavor of Java Cask.
