Lo-Cal IPA
Drinking crisp and light with little bitterness and tons of hop character, notes of passionfruit and citrus wow the crowd.

Poured into pint glass: color is straw, hazy but not thick, head is brighter white and presents 1/4 inch thick then dissipates to thin top, some lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is muted but some malt, maybe light biscuit, limited hop character.
Taste is similarly muted but not bad, just very lightly flavored: light biscuit malt, some base character, hops are light citrus, very light and some neutral bitter.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, lower sweetness, low bitterness.
Overall golden/blonde ale labelled as a light ipa.

Look - pale yellow with a bubbly white head
Smell and Taste - Grainy citrus pretty easy going. Taste has more than the lacing smell
Feel - light and fizzy
Overall - ok session

Can pour into tulip, one of mixed pack, and the only one I really liked probably because being a session style lowered my expectation. Light straw appearance with fizzy head with moderate retention. Citrusy bitter notes, fruity, light, slightly prickly. Ok.

From the bottom of the can, stretched across the entire bottom: "BEST BY JAN 20 23 DTW 22201 0911 FL"
Appearance: The color is a slightly pale gold color, like straw that has been sitting out in the sun for a bit. The body is very hazy but dark shadows are visible through the glass. It has a short but frothy white head that leaves nice sheets of lacing on the glass but doesn't stand very tall on its own.
Aroma: There are notes of garlic and onion. It has a very savory aroma. There is a touch of a cabbage scent but mostly the garlic and onion character comes through.
Taste: Up front there is pineapple and mango. Towards the middle there is a bit of hop bine oil flavor but it tastes a bit watered down. It has a very light pine flavor towards the back of the mouth and in the aftertaste. A bit of a mineral water aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: It is light and it feels a bit spritzy. There is barely a touch of bitterness. It is very easy to drink and it is refreshing.
Overall: As a whole it drinks a lot more like one of those hop water beverages rather than a beer. It is light and refreshing and as a whole it was rather enjoyable even if it was light on aroma and flavor. The can states that this is a "SESSION IPA" and it feels a lot like one. Nobody would confuse this with a regular IPA or even a Pale Ale. I could see some circumstances where I might buy this if I wanted something on the lighter side but with the lack of flavor and aroma that would be a very short list. It's worth trying if you're looking for something on the lighter side but also just want a light touch of hop character.

Not a good IPA whatsoever. This beer has barely any flavor.

Slightly cloudy straw with a very persistent good sized head. Smell is mild citrus tropical and herbal hops. Taste has a little light malt backbone, some hop bitterness, some citrus and tropical character but it's mild. Light bodied, which is the idea. This accomplishes what it sets out to- nice light session beer that also has some character.
