Bottle into Nucleated Tulip
Look: orange-yellow with a hint of pink. Poured a 1/2 finger head which dissipated into a ring with lacing
Smell: Light guava, with Pilsner malt and some citric acid
Taste: mellow guava sweetness with fruity hops. Lightly toasted malt
Feel: light mouthfeel with gentle carbonation
Overall: wish it was more tart but good malt, guava and some hops

CELERY!! It’s overpowering!

L: nice lemony yellow color, little bit of hazy look. Little less than a finger of head that dissipated quickly. Some lacing

S: celery, just celery

T: CELERY, it’s not pleasant at all. I like the tartness, but the only flavor is celery

F: nice carbonation, refreshing

Purchased as a single bottle from Ingles for $1.50. Poured into a tulip glass.

L - Hazy gold with a two-finger bright white head. Laces nicely.
S - Spicy, with notes of some kind of citrus.
T - Very strong guava at the start! White pepper and coriander soon follow, with a tart citrus finish. Well-balanced.
F - Medium body, light carbonation. Refreshing. Almost creamy, like a nitro pour. Super easy to drink.
O - Using this beer to pair with my late-night snack of ham with a brown sugar and rum glaze. It doesn't really pair well, nor is it meant to. It's a very tasty ale! Goes down easy, very flavorful, and the coriander is the star of the show here - not the guava. Well done; definitely recommend!

Pale yellow color with thin white foam. The sourness is mild and the guava and wheat additions make for a refreshing beer. This would be a great pour on a hot day and will keep it in mind for next summer.

Light gold pour with a substantial foamy head. Certainly tart, but not overly so, the beer has a slightly creamy mouthfeel that gives it a juicy quality, especially as the beer warms and the guava (an unusual flavor!) comes to the fore. Initially, I didn't care for the guava invasion, but the longer I spent with it, the more it grew on me.

This was the last of the mythical monkey beers I needed to try but I like this one more than Sour Monkey. (Golden Monkey is still on top).

I poured the can into a frozen Tulip glass. It poured a hazy light yellow with plenty of head. It smells great. It's sweet but not too sweet. It tastes as light as it looks. There is a hint of fruitiness but it isn't overwhelming, you still know it's a beer. My wife also loved it, so next time I have to get her a couple. Very tasty beer. If you see it, get one or a few.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a cloudy straw yellow with a moderate off-white head. Aroma and flavor feature grainy, wheaty malt with tart (not sweet) tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated. Overall, a refreshing summer beer.

12 ounce can poured into a Duvel tulip glass. Best by Feb 26, 2022.

L---Hazy, pale gold color. Fluffy white head sits down quickly to a cap and leaves nice lacing.

S---Guava, as advertised, lemon and yeast.

T---Follows the nose exactly. Light tartness.

F---Medium/light bodied. Good carbonation.

O---I was expecting this to be Sour Monkey's sad little brother. It is.

Pulling back from the sour tripel of its predecessor, a more contemporary taste, texture and allure comes out of Victory Brewing. Lighter in alcohol, laced with guava and built for ease of consumption, this less sour monkey is ripe for the picking.

Tart Monkey pours a bright and lemony hazy, slightly translucent and capped with a frothy stark-white foam. Clean, crisp and tart to the nose, its tropical laden scent is quite non-descript but its citrus, cider and winey notes are front and center. With a light must of burlap, the nose leads into a scantly sweet taste of sourdough, taffy and powdered sugar.

As the ale washes all thirst from the middle palate, a refreshingly tart taste of lemony acidity invites flavors of green apple, white wine and green papaya. All the while, the guava character sells a tropical taste that you can't quite put your finger on. Trailing into a thirst quenching tartness, the ale boarders on full sourness with a hint of briny earthiness in a slight peppery balance.

Medium light on the palate, the beer finishes brisk, refreshing and mostly clean with a brief afterglow of sourdough and burlap once more. Its a delightful addition to this summer's lineup.

12oz can into a pint glass. Best by 3/5/21, so plenty fresh.

Looks nice enough in the glass. Cloudy dull pineapple juice colored body. Big bright white head shrinks to a thick ring and covering, leaves persistent scattered lacing.

Aroma is mixed. I get the guava, but there is a medicinal band aid aroma as well.

On tasting, follows the nose, though the band aid is thankfully reduced. A little tart and sour.

Mouth close to full, finish guava.

Overall, not something I particularly care for, though it's not terrible. Have seen reviews mention band aid before, first time I've tasted it, hope I never find it again.
