Very nice color to this beer deep rich gold with some copper color. Good heat at first quickly dissipated to a ring and minor cloud cover in the middle.
Nose is a nice mix of all sorts of goodies; the it smells like a tripel with a lot more going on. Typical spices, but then some vanilla, oak, and caramelized sugar. It almost has a fruit skin smell to it to, almost apple like of grape like. This beer is very pleasant to sip and smell, I’m curious what else comes out as it warms.
The taste follows the nose very closely, and the caramelized sugar really comes out nicely on the finish. The spice still shows itself nicely with the oak in a very balanced fashion.
I’d probably say the body is medium on this one. However you can tell it’s a big beer, the alcohol shows itself very clearly but luckily it isn’t too hot or overwhelming. There is a fruit skin like bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste.

A - Deep copper pour with lots of tiny particulates suspended in the beer. Lacing is bright white and carbonation is steady and moderate.
S - Light Belgian candy sugar aroma sweetness and light rum.
T - Cinnamon, sweet Belgian candy sugar, Rum, and vanilla.
M - Thick and full bodied with a silky texture and very little warming on the way down which is surprising for 11%. Fairly wet on the finish with a big dry spot on the back of the tongue.
O - Average. The best part of this beer is the price point which is why I would buy it again, especially for our holiday gatherings.

Copper color with thin head. The flavor is slightly sweet with a molasses taste and a pronounced alcohol bite from being aged in rum barrels. The malt base balances out these stronger flavors, making this a welcome addition to my usual holiday beers.

The pour from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug empties the can and fills less than three quarters of the vessel. There's almost no head. A Belgian ale aroma with mild spicing is detected. Its color is a bright and light copper-amber, seemingly closer to translucent than opaque, but within that nebulous area. So far, Golden Monkey seems to be a close cousin. The taste is pretty good, with cinnamon, vanilla and something clove like adding to the overall. It's a bit more agreeable than Golden Monkey, as it's a little more complex and carries a higher ABV in a smoother way. Thankfully, the spicing is done quite appropriately, just enough to know it's there. There are too many in this category that are way over-spiced. The mouthfeel is good for the style and ABV. The glass lacing is negligible, but with these heavy hitters, that doesn't matter. It's probably a good shared sipping brew after a nice meal, but no one should make a night of it.

Pours a clear dark copper in color, thin hwite head that fades. Aroma is a little boozy - rum, mild vanilla, a little clove. Taste is slightly sweet, a touch of caramel, but the Tripel base beer comes through. Medium bodied, lower carbonation.
