We're excited to showcase Hopsteiner's experimental HS 17701 - a hop with rare oil composition, unique aroma attributes, and superior agronomics. Used at multiple points through the boil and through dry-hopping, Full Saturation brings the full hop flavor and notes of peach and passion fruit expected from a complex multi-hopped IPA with 1 single hop.

Pours a light straw color with a finger of head. The nose has notes of honey, earth and dankness. The flavor has a sour funkiness that caused me to check the date. Since it's only a month old, I'm assuming that this is the way it's supposed to taste.

It's a shame that I saved my 2500 rating for this mess of a beer.

Draft, a little too cold in a pint glass.
Good creamy head, balance ok, but not very complex. Okay AIPA.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden-orange color with a two-finger head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a moderate sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a passionfruit and apricot aroma mixed with a decent showing of orange and a bit of peach. There is also a sizable floral hop smell, mixed with a bit of herbal and grapefruit hop.
Taste- The taste begins with a bready malt flavor mixed with some light fruit flavors of apricot, peach, and passionfruit. Along with these flavors is a floral and grapefruit hop. The hop is lighter upfront, getting stronger as the taste advances on the tongue. Some light flavors of herb join in the taste toward the end being joined by some light crusty flavors and a bit of must and hay. Right at the finish, a touch of orange joins in, and with the mix of flavors it leaves on with a somewhat more dank and moderately malty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and chewiness with a lighter carbonation level. For the tastes the feel is pretty good and makes for a rather easy drinker.
Overall – An alright brew that is a bit more on the dank and malty side, while being overall rather easy drinking. OK, but nothing too exceptional.

hmm..too much peachiness here for me...this is not a big boys ipa..almost has a witbier finish so not a happy camper with this one. So many better other offers from Victory than this one.

Kinda hazy yellow, white head, little retention, spotty lace
Peach and passionfruit hop aroma, a bit of cream of wheat underneath
Passionfruit up front, peach towards the finish, some cream of wheat underlying it all
Fluffy, medium-bodied, lower carbonation, feels flabby
not really my thing

From brewers of DirtWolf, nuff said. Yes this is more like a Belgian that an AIPA.
a) Lucious ample lasting lasting head over hazy amber body. 4+
s) Pronounced peach, perfumey and medicinal, herbal riff.
t) Follow aroma riff toward fruit and fresh sawn wood, and sawdust.
f) Juicy, peach nectar.
o) ORIGINAL! due to expermental hop, even repeats on you, are peachy.

Agree w Toblerone:
"This is a real odd ball. Upon cracking the can I immediately get the peach aromatics... like a Belgian saison" or something (a Belgian IPA).

This is very lackluster. Honestly it’s kind of like drinking a stronger Budweiser or Miller. Not hoppy or juicy at all. Very unimpressed with this one.

It's plenty carbonated, but a pour to empty a pint can into a clear glass liter mug produced a minimal and short-lived just-off-white head. The color of the brew is lightly yellow-amber and although bright, it's also mildly cloudy. It's not pungent, but the nose can pick up some fragrances associated with yeast and alcohol, but not much more. The taste is almost as nondescript, with nothing standing out. This is almost amazing in its lack of any specific taste reference. Yes, there's some starchy backbone, some, not much and it has some, not much, hops to taste. But, as the nose foretold, alcohol and yeast dominate the taste. At least the mouthfeel is smooth and leaves a pleasant wet feeling in the aftertaste. Don't be mislead by the label. There's nothing full tasting about this one. Although the body is decent, there's little added flavor from it. Obviously, it's hopped, but there's no character there to stand out within a relatively not so potent, yet noticeable ABV. A no glass lacing mention would just be piling on. It's a drinkable mid-to-upper range alcohol beer hit and nothing better.

This is a real odd ball. Upon cracking the can I immediately get the peach aromatics but they dissipate quickly and are more a suggestion on the palate; there’s an herbaceous, lemon and white pepper thing going on here, and ultimately my impression is more of a spicy herbal saison type beer than a DIPA. Has a nice crispness and a pretty unique flavor profile. But, it’s a little weird and I’m glad I got a single. Does not scratch the IPA itch at all.

A - Medium yellow gold pour with light carbonation and dense bright white lacing.

S - Bright citrus, passionfruit, and peach dominate the nose.

T - Citrus, peach, passionfruit, some melon, and ends on the sweeter side with low bitterness and some residual citrus oil on the palate.

M - Medium body with light, prickly carbonation.

O - Decent. Pretty cool that Victory is using this new variety of experimental hops.

Poured into a narrow imperial pint glass: color is gold, transparent, head is brighter white and frothy with a 2 finger thickness, solid top remains and frothy lacing.

Smell is mixed with something different from the experimental hop or hop/malt combo - notes of malt, toast, honey, then citrus, stone fruit, herbal and light dankness.

Taste is more pleasant forward malt notes - toast, honey; then mixed hop notes of citrus, stone fruit, herbal qualities but no dankness more pine.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness.

Overall cleaner but slightly sweet light DIPA (7.3% for a DIPA, really?) but the hopping does not disappoint with some subtle herbal/dank qualities that are much more appreciated on my palate the other 99 hazies around.
