This smooth bodied stout starts with a roasty richness and a hint of dark, unsweetened chocolate followed by notes of biscut. This curious blend will have you ready to embrace the cold this season

Picked up a 12 oz can as part of a mixed sixer from the Energy Mart cooler on Long Shoals Road on 1-25-25 for $13.99. Best by 24MAR25; consumed 3-12-25. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured black with a beautiful tan head with serious hang time.

Nose has hints of chocolate malts that are moderately roasted.

Taste is a black and chocolate malt base that emits dark cacao with each sip. Getting a nice touch of roastiness and in concert with the hopping this finishes nicely balanced.

Mouthfeel is very nice; each sip is smooth and satisfying.

Overall, a really nice beer that drinks bigger than the abv. Would not hesitate to have in the future.

Had a pint at local eatery that had a weak selection of tap beers to choose from. This stout looks and pours like one, smell was lacking to me, lacing was present, taste was there but nothing to write home about. A clean tasting stout, glad I tried it, would get again if in a pinch, but wouldn’t seek it out.

Pours a deep dark brown with over a finger of beige head. The nose has solid roasted notes. The flavor profile has roasted notes as well, but it's a definite drop off in intensity compared to the nose. The body is on-point for the style.

Had on tap at Frisco Taphouse in Gambrills, MD. This is much more roasty/earthy than I was expecting - definitely not a "dessert stout." Roasty, bitter chocolate flavor and earthy hops. Interesting.

Draft serving. Dark sable body with thick brown foam. Terrific roasted malt flavor with a hint of chocolate sweetness, and a mildly warming quality. This is a wonderful stout; hope it's a regular seasonal.

Poured stout black with a dark brown and briefly lived head of foam, very little lacing. Must have been an off bottle as most are reporting good foam and lacing.
The taste is coffee and cocoa with some hops riding herd on the malts. Not bitter at all, but not soft chocolate malt either, a nice, solid, nothing fancy, non imperial stout.
The feel is more carbonated than I expected from the lack of foam, but it doesn’t detract from the flavor, just unexpected.
OA, I think I could drink a 6 pack if I had bought one, but I don’t think I would go buy more.

Solid black body sporting a large tan head that left nice lacing. Aroma of dark bread, roasted chocolate malts and a hint of cigar smoke. More bittersweet chocolate in the flavor. Enough of a hop presence to lighten things up a bit. Medium-to-full bodied mouthfeel along with good carbonation.

12 oz bottle poured into a stout glass. Look is deep brown to black with a light brown head that slowly drops to a cap. Some lacing gets left behind in the glass. Smell is roasted barely malt, cocoa powder, a bit of hop presence. Taste starts a bit sweet with a chocolate, coffee opening. Next in the middle is a nice bitterness as the roasted malt, cocoa and earthy hops fill in. The finish is short with bitter cocoa powder and black coffee flavors round out. Feel is medium bodied with a light zip of carbonation bubbles. Overall this is a very nice stout from Victory. Nothing fancy, no barrel aging, just a straight forward stout. Well done.

12 ounce bottle poured into a Spiegelau wheat beer glass.

L: Very dark brown, like crude oil in the glass, 2 finger medium brown head.
S: Roasted malt, smoke.
T: Roasty and bitter, fairly dry, hints of baker’s chocolate, woody, a little smoky, a little more sweet as it warms.
F: Medium-weight crisp body, becoming more creamy later in the glass.
O: Decent, sharp overall, smoky character is nice.
