Very similar to the non-Binny's version, which I think I prefer. Look is identical. 500ml bottle poured into a snifter shows a dull maple-brown body with barely a whisp of floating and edge-hugging cocoa colored bubbles with a plethora of running spotted lacing.
Aroma matches with booze up front, jumping from the bottle upon opening. From the snifter the booze exposes the full panoply of expected barrel notes including oak, char, leather, and the obvious vanilla, cocoa, dark chocolate, and nuts.
The flavor is less complex than the non-Binny's release but still strong bourbon makes a great sipper with a warming release in the chest.
Same wonderfully full, creamy, soft, and briefly tongue-coating mouthfeel. The nuttiness is a welcome reminder of a fine bite of fun sized candy.
Overall I give the non-Binny's release the edge while being needlessly persnickety.

16 ounce bottle into a snifter. Released July 2018, had 7/24/20.
Pours a dark brown, opaque, with a half inch quickly dissipating foamy head and some soapy cling. Aromas of chocolate, tobacco, bourbon, raisins, oak, char, some peanuts, some caramel, vanilla, a little smoke. The flavor shows more prominent bourbon than the aroma, milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla, malt, tobacco and oak, some raisins, light peanuts, sea salt as it warms. Smooth, a little creamy, a solid full body, well carbonated.
The chosen barrel is pretty incredible. Terrific aromas and flavors, all the add- ins show well- although the peanuts have most likely faded over the two years. At its best when fully warmed. Excellent.

This binney's edition is significantly better than barrel aged fun size! Great barrel character!
