July 7th, 2015 - Second to last in our sampler set today is the Vanilla Porter. It's sweet and oily on the nose with some strong vanilla extract. It also gives me a light punch to the face with a bourbon scent, but it's not overwhelming. If the scent is high-handed, the flavor is low and sweet. Heavy and still swollen with vanilla, it also features a long aftertaste. There's some cocoa cereal there which lasts basically until the next sip, but it is just a little too sweet and cloying.
