Very dark opaque. Ringed creme head. Chocolatey toasted roadted smell. The taste is just how it smells but some hops added to it end. The feel is similar, with the hoppy bite and carbonation at the end. Well done. Not my cup of meat in terms of stouts. But would definitely drink it again.

Midnight black/ brown. Thin head. Smelled upfront like chocolate with mild coffee notes. Drank smoothly, as tasted delicious, great toasty malt flavor with tons of chocolate flavor. very easy on the a palate, feels light and doesn't leave an after taste. Would 100% get again.

Again. So drinkable. I'm seeing a trend with these guys. That's my biggest thing with beer. Regardless of style has to be drinkable. And the large addition of wheat in this beer is evident. Like a silk blanket draped over a velvet cloud. Drinkable but these 8+ percenters will sneak up on you!!

I like how this beer is brewed with wheat to give it a creamier mouth feel. The roasted malt is very nice and the alcohol, while present, is nicely muted. Very well done.

Pour is jet black with a tight creamy tan head. Nose is moderate roast, light milk chocolate, decent malt presence. Flavor is similar, moderate roast, milk chocolate, roast lingers through the finish, not overly compleat but a simple tasty stout. Creamy feel, medium body, well carbonated.

I had this sometime in June of 2014 & am just now getting around to transcribing the review from my chicken scratch.

Black, 2 fingers of cappuccino head, soufflé-like, highlights around the edges. Head drops to a covering.

Smells of dark chocolate, graham cracker, with a rye-like spiciness.

Tastes of similar dark chocolate with a cola-like fruitiness, nutty, spicy, some booze, slight tartness.

The mouthfeel is both full & light, fluffy, not as viscous as most stouts its strength, a little heat. Very easy-drinking.

Overall, really impressed by this one. This isn't crazy-WTF afield, but different from other stouts.

thin, just not a good brew -- it had good chocolaty feel but the taste and feel finishes like water, or at least my bottle did.
