Formerly Rapid Prototype Factory Series #013: Cucumber Wheat Beer (4.8% ABV).
Garden Party is our first warm weather seasonal, emerging from a very successful experiment in our Rapid Prototype Factory series that combined an American wheat ale with fresh cucumber added after fermentation.
Next Pittsburgh Magazine named Garden Party "Clubhouse leader for the best new Pittsburgh beer of 2014" for its refreshing flavor and "superb execution".
Best described as crisp, clean and "fresh", drink it on a hot day, or sip it with a nice dinner - the choice is yours.

Yeah, as stated on the front of the can, this is a "beer made with fresh cucumber". That's really all you need to know. It smells and tastes like cucumber. It's refreshing. I'm not disappointed. I am, however, tempted to salt the rim and add some dill just to see if it tastes like a pickle. Will update if I follow through.

12 oz can
Pours hazy golden, white film for a head retains indefinitely.
Aroma is very clean. Some wheat notes and pronounced cucumber.
Flavor is of sweet wheat malts, some cereal notes, with a mild cucumber undertone.
Medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.
Very bright and refreshing ale, great summer session beer. The cucumber comes and goes in terms of potency, but is always pleasant. If you don't like cucumber then this will probably be off-putting, but otherwise its definitely worth trying and easy to like.

Enjoyed this at the "beer garden" downtown Pittsburgh, on the way to the Pirates game, 8/14/21 courtesy of the Belesky's. Beautiful fresh cucumber aroma and flavor and a light refreshing CO2 fizz. Tasted a little like a lager, but still was refreshing and delightful.
Had again at the brewery in Braddock, 8/27/22, before Jake and Amy's wedding rehearsal. Just as delightful!

Cucumber mayhem, top to bottom. Thankfully, I cracked this by surprise (mislabeled growler) on a 96 degree summer day. Super refreshing. If you love cucumber, this beer is for you

Coppery gold no head. Flat looking but carries the carbonation just fine. So cuke like on the nose. Malty syrup smell in the background too. The lime is perfect if gently added to the beer. Very Refreshing. Couldnt do a full pint though. Well done.

Gold, orange color with thin head. Smells strongly of cucumber. Tastes of cucumber immediately With a wheat and salty flavor towards the end and the cucumber flavor is completely lost at the finish. Leaves a film feel on the palate after wards, vaguely effervescent. Could drink again In small portions.
Edit: added lime (served with a lime on draft) and it complemented the cucumber perfectly! so delicious.

This beer blew me away. So much fresh cucumber in the nose. Like a nice drinkable side salad. So refreshing and light. Could drink this all day.
Hoping they brew a tart version and call it pickle party!!

Taste was really not in my desired flavors for a beer. I'm sure though many will like out.
