The scotch notes came out perfect on this beer. Between the smell and the taste I would really like to see more scotch barrel aged stouts like this. It was well balanced.

Before I taste this beer, I will have to say that barrel aging is not really my thing. So if I come off blasé on this one, feel free to discard my opinion.
Nose is definitely scotch. Clearly defined. Mildly boozy. Yep. Definitely aged in a scotch barrel. Flavor is...actually pretty good! Interesting. I really don't get a lot of complexities off this one, but who cares. The scotch adds a really nice level of accents to the base stout. This is a stellar beer. A really good execution in barrel aging of a beer. This is now about the 5th or 6th very well done beer in a row from BG I have had and they are now to be taken seriously, in my mind.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
