Poured from a 750 into a wine glass that kind of looks like a Teku without the little lip thing at the top.
Appearance- Pours a beautiful straw like yellow, and glistens in the summer sun. Beautiful 2 index finger foam held at a perfect 90degree angle. The beer is not brilliantly clear, but its also not opaque. Its like a light fog stuck onto a pine brushed horizon with the sun rising ever so slowly... yet vibrantly.
Smell- First wiff throws off some incredible saltine cracker laden Pils character. Some doughiness mingles with the pils malt almost giving the impression of very lightly toasted wonder bread. The hops are floral, and herbal with some perfumey and lemongrass notes dancing throughout. The way the hops play off the the Pilsner backbone adds some grassy/hay like character that I absolutely love.
Taste- Crisp, dry, and wow does that cracker malt pop!! Light biscuit/saltine cracker malt flavors with supporting floral hops, making the beer so light and drinkable. Hop flavor is more on that Lemongrass/noble side of things, with some slight spicy noble notes as well. The yeast character is incredibly clean, and almost lager like... really kinda drinks like a lower IBU G Pils... and I fuggin love me some G Pils.
Moutfeel- Medium body, but comes across quite light and pillowy.
Overall- A beautiful example of a Kolsch. A style not many breweries make, and especially a style they don't make well. Incredibly clean, drinkable, yet complex. These guys crush hoppy beers, but this exemplifies the skill set they possess as brewers. Beautiful, and under rated beer.

It feels strange calling this one of the less impressive beers I've had from Brew Gentlemen, because that does a disservice to it's overall level of quality. As a kolsch, I think it was brewed to style fairly well. Pale yellow in color and medium light body, haze was subdued relative to other BG beers. Had the clean and mostly clear appearance I was expecting. Finish was perhaps a bit less dry than I was hoping for, that might have made it even more appealing to go back in for additional glasses. I'm by no means an expert on this style of beer. I certainly had a nice time with the 750ml swingtop I was lucky enough to score. I would love to try a German pilsner from these guys, with the two styles having so much in common. Maybe I just enjoy the slightly more assertive hop bitterness in pilsners and my style bias is showing. Bah. This is a good beer and you should get it and drink it and enjoy it and call it George.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
