This was a very muddy brown color but looks aren't everything and this has it where it counts. Mellow notes of dark fruits and smooth toffee work well with the big bourbon notes.

Take my rating for what it is. It is a well made barleywine that I believe that needs about 6 months of time in the bottle. After some time in the glass, the malt and toffee flavors, followed by dark dried fruit began to emerge. Started off astringent, but mellowed toward the end. Will revisit and update at that time.
