On tap at brewery:
Filled to top pour, but still left some lacing on first sip. Can't tell initial head, but small archipelagos of bubbles stay atop the black ocean. Thin rim of off white continues to lace the glass.
The nose seems to focus on the dark malt notes, roasted malts of very light coffee with maybe a little chat. This is lightened by an impression of citrus.
I do not know when this went on, but I feel it is fairly fresh. The flavors are crisp, clean, fairly distinct, and on point. Roasted malt opening with. a light coffee bitterness that reminds me of it. The mid taste is a lightly flavored chocolate before classic citrusy IPA hops grab my attention and carry me to the end.
I asked the brewer, and this beer has been on a week and that he is essentially at capacity, so this would indicate it went on as soon as ready. This is a solid Cascadian Dark Ale in my experience from a smaller brewer.
