A Smooth move tea German beer with white toasted notes in the aroma. Some slight spiciness from the alcohol and a dry finish makes for a great spring beer. A Maibock traditionally drunk in May and is stronger (“fest-style”) and darker than a Helles bock.

On tap at brewery:
A lovely light copper that is refreshingly clear. Some minor lacing despite the fact the ring is razor thin by the end of the glass.

Caramel malt and light fruit notes manage to meet my nose. A fruited caramel meets my palate in a more straightforward way, with a little spicy hop quelling the sweetness.

Overall a little too caramelly to me. It’s not missing the mark wildly, I think the hop bitterness just need to be a little more aggressive or there to be a little less residual sugar.
