I liked this beer. I'm not super crazy about porters and stouts, but I can enjoy one now and again. When I had the Jackdaw London Porter at Aeronaut, I was pleasantly surprised. The appearance was very much like a cup of black coffee. No head visible on the pour. The smell wasn't anything out of this world, but had subtle hints of grain, earth, chocolate, and coffee. As for the taste, there were again hints of grain, chocolate, and coffee. In fact, if someone told me it was iced black coffee, I may very well have believed them. One thing I will say is that this beer went down very smooth. It was almost like drinking black coffee, but almost creamy. It had some body to it, without actually being creamy. Maybe it was the malt that did it. idk. Anyways, good stuff.

Boston Beer Summit. Draft sample pour. Poured dark brown. Light but still fairly aromatic. Roasty and simple. Some dry chocolate. Has a pleasant bitterness and robustness to the flavor. Body was very light. I would like to have had more of this one because it was pleasant and maybe held some other nuances I could have enjoyed.

A decent rendition of the style, perhaps a little thin with a faint hint of acrid character but drinkable none the less.
