Aeronaut brewery is my local brewery. Located approximately 1000 yards from house, they occuypy a building in an otherwise industrial and forgettable block of Somerville, MA. But for this brewery (and a climbing gym next door) few people would venture to this nook of the Commonwealth. However, for those that do, a truly memorable place awaits. Aeronaut is positioning itself to become a landmark not just in Somerville, but in the Boston area as a whole.
Their brewery is an amazing mixed used space (Nintendo on the wall FTW) that supports and nurtures other local businesses in the area. You can bring your own food in, and they also host live music and trivia and all sorts of awesome stuff. Oh, and also, they are making some really awesome beers. As a beer consumer and neighbor of the brewery, I want to support this brewery as best I can, and in any way I can. So alas, after this lengthy introduction, I want to come out of a self imposed "retirement" and review one of their beers. "The Eye of Sauvin," which I picked up as a crowler from the brewery yesterday.
32 oz crowler, poured into a Tulip glass
A: Hazy orange and yellow...very little head. It's barely there, and its somewhat soapy
S: Lemon, flour, dust, bubblegum. Just the faintest "barnyard" smell. Clean, nothing overpowering at all
T: Sweet and bright, floral, piney, lemon, grass. Could use a bit more bite and snap in the finish
M: Unreal, super super light on the palate. Nothing bitter or cloying. Refreshing to the highest degree
O: Excellent summertime option, the taste and mouth feel completely mask the 7.2% abv. This is deceptively boozy and utterly refreshing

Serving: On tap at the brewpub into a sampler snifter
Served: 14 May 2016
Appearance: Pours a somewhat hazy golden color crowned with a pearl white head that stuck around for a bit even in the small glass and despite the alcohol content.
Smell: You can definitely tell this has nelson sauvin in it- soft white wine notes, subtle apple, and soft tropical citrus.
Taste: A subtly bitter beer with the traditional nelson sauvin notes, as described in the nose. Quite enjoyable.
Mouthfeel: Medium-high body with medium-lower carbonation. I think this one could have been a bit more carbonated.
Overall: Another good beer that I would gladly have again.

Clear yeller with intermittent wisps of foam. Medicinal Sauvignon blanc smell with a farmy undertone. Flavor is dry herbal bready malt. Good.
