Brown color where bright light passes through the center of the glass. Smallish bar poured head but it leaves a couple of blankets for lace.
Funky smell of chocolate malt and dirt. Dry and powdery cocoa to the nose.
The smell is mimicked in the taste. Overly dry to start. The malt seems to be as biting as the balanced hop. The dark cocoa flavor is completely unsweetened. The aftertaste is peppery but short, surprisingly so. The body leans thin but the carbonation remains neutral. Overall, this is an astringent beer with light cocoa touch.
