32oz crowler (my first experience with this packaging), filled yesterday, and served in a tumber. Northfield IPA has been described as a red IPA, and by Aeronaut as a wet hop IPA, brewed w/ freshly picked hops from Four Star Farms.
Beer is rich amber in the glass, surprisingly dark for a (single) IPA. Not much in the way of aroma. Flavor is a sharp, citrusy, and assertive. A little bit of a roasty grain flavor, perhaps even a coffee note. I wonder if there's red rye in this. Pretty good, and a prototypical East Coast IPA, with a really interesting malt profile. But for a wet hop IPA, I think the hop flavors are rather muddled, and much less aromatic than I'd like.
