My friend Tim keeps suggesting that I try some beers from Aeronaut, but I don't see much of them at my local store. When I was just browsing yesterday, I saw the discount rack and this was sitting there for $1.50, so i figured it was a good a time as any to see what Aeronaut is all about
Pours a hazy pale orange with 2 fingers of white head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
For a 3.5%, kettle soured beer, I am finding a decent amount of funk in the nose that keeps things interesting. I'm picking up on aromas of earthy guava, sweetish passionfruit, red grapefruit, lemon, a touch of crackery malt, and grassy hops
This has a nice bite to it without being overly tart or aggressively fruity. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart guava, passionfruit, and bready malt. The swallow brings notes of tart guava, sharp lime, crackery malt, and an aftertaste of lemon
A medium light body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a surprisingly creamy beer for the abv and the tartness. Finishes somewhere between dry and sticky with lingering tartness, quite refreshing
Well, my boy Tim was right! This is good stuff here, but as far as fruited sours go it's not mind blowing. I'm definitely down to try more from Aeronaut in the future

Treated as a regular American wild ale, this was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a copper color with a quickly dissipating little white foamy head leaving no lace.
The aroma had the sweet and tart character of passion fruit up front with a nice little bit of lemon and grassy notes sliding into the background.
The flavor was moderately sour with an ample tart and sweet contour of the passion fruit quality. Mild aftertaste of sour to tart passion fruit with a touch of lemon.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt fine. Slight sour to tart passion fruity finish.
Overall, it's a passion fruit sour ale but I don't see it as a Berliner weisse, where's the 'sour-ed' wheat?
