Can dated 12/18/20. poured into tulip March 2021. Decent golden color with a persistent 2" white head.
Typical begian yeast notes on the nose with light baking spice accents. The yeast notes lead on the palate but are quickly overwhelmed by the dry hop flavors.
Belgian golden ales are one of the jewels of the beer universe, subtle, savoury, nuanced and harmonious. This is the antithesis: one dimensional, astringent and unbalanced. A perfect proof that simply adding more hops does not create a better beer.
Threw the other 3 cans out.

Pours a clear gold in color with nearly two fingers of dense, long lasting white head. Aroma is full of Belgian yeast esters: fruity with some banana, bubblegum, clove, and light peppery notes. Taste is a little citrusy and fruity with an undertone of the same esters from the aroma. Finish is a little sweet, I don’t get too much malt character. Medium plus in body with moderate carbonation. Overall this is a pretty tasty Belgian style ale with a heavy emphasis on the yeast character. There is something about this that keeps me coming back for more.
