Can. Pours quote hazy. We are looking at an 8.6 on the Haze-o-meter™. Aroma is not overly aggressive but it is pretty decent. Damp, tropical, pureed fruits. Grassy and a bit dank, too. Definitely do wish it was kicked up a bit and really jumped out of the glass. Flavor is better than the nose. Sweet, fruit hops. Citrus smoothie. Orange fro-yo. Fairly creamy in feel and flavor. Soft carb, low bitterness, and very well hidden ABV. The feel is probably the best part. Good but not worth the price of admission.

Double Citra Galaxy
Aeronaut Brewing Company IPA - Imperial / Double New...
Lemon drops and grapefruit are abundant in the hops. Grainy earth bite from the malt side and hops, dry and puckering effect. Smooth texture with a grainy, dry feel but also juicy. Good complexity and very true to the NE hazy style.

Looks very opaque, like red grapefruit juice. Almost no head & very little lacing. Very nice citrus & tropical fruit aroma. A pleasant, complex but unexceptional citra-hops flavor. A fine mouthfeel with a good amount of carbonation. It's 8% ABV, which is a bit higher than I usually go, but I didn't find it excessively boozy. (But next time I'm shopping for an IPA it'll be 7.2% or less. These DIPAs are too much.) Overall a very good but not outstanding DIPA.
In a review of another beer that I wrote recently I said that I didn't see the point of rating the "look" of a beer, but this beer has changed my mind a bit about that. You pour it into a glass & the head dissipates almost immediately, and once the head is gone it doesn't even look like beer, It looks like fermented fruit juice — for whatever that matters. It's certainly a good beer & I would buy it again. But it doesn't hit the proverbial ball out of the park.

Got this in October 2021 so it appears to have become un-retired.
Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a small head and a lot of lacing.
Smells of slightly dank piney hops with some sweet fruit.
Tastes of bitter hops and tart grapefruit up front with some sweeter lemon and mango notes following.
Medium body and carbonation. Clean dry mouthfeel.
This IPA clearly is on the bitter side of the NE spectrum.

From a 16oz can, dated 11/04/20. Served in an IPA glass.
Pours a cloudy-opaque dirty apricot sort of colour with two fingers of pouffy head. Retention is pretty good, subsiding to a fizzy collar and a bubbly webbery of lacing.
A vigorous, yeasty aroma of pineapple, lemon and garlic.
Taste follows right along, predominantly pineapple and lemon, the juicy bits and not so much the pith. Lime, white grapefruit, peach and bitter green tree leaves. Somewhat dry and grainy and tasting way boozier than 8.0%.
Feel is clean and quenching, no more than medium bodied, dry and well carbonated. Significant boozy warmth in the gullet.
Overall, a bit harsh and boozy but intensely flavorful. A very cool high-octane peach liqueur aftertaste lingers.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a turbid yellow gold color with a small off-white head. The head leaves a bit of splotchy lacing as it quickly settles into a thin halo.
The aroma is rather dank and herbal up front with notes of garlic, grass and onions. There's also plenty of fresh pineapple, stone fruits, and mangoes with a touch of lemon zest and cantaloupe. There's a subtle bready malt character hiding in the back. Truly an "everything but the kitchen sink" aroma.
The dank, grassy character is far more subdued in the flavor, but still present. There's a metric ton of stone fruits and pineapple, as well as some fresh mangoes, orange sherbet, and lemon meringue pie.
The feel is medium bodied with moderately low carbonation. Very soft and creamy with a dry finish.
Overall, this is a very good imperial NEIPA. It didn't meet my lofty expectations because Galaxy + Citra is my absolute favorite hop combo, but it still utilizes each hop very well and ends up creating a balanced, flavorful hop bomb.

I like NEIPAs. This one is a bit unique, with more fruit (pineapple) than I usually like. Overall this is a very refreshing and tasty brew.
